Project Description: The Salt Lake City School District (SLCSD) is issuing this Request for Proposals (RFP) seeking a vendor to provide Construction Manager/General Contractor (CM/GC) services for the rebuild of West High School. You are instructed to pay special attention to the RFP language regarding the information to be submitted with your proposal and the format of that information. Evaluation of the proposals received will be in accordance with the evaluation criteria contained herein. ALL questions concerning this solicitation MUST be submitted through the Bonfire system. Only answers issued through the Bonfire system or issued via an authorized and properly issued addendum shall be the official position of the Salt Lake City School District (SLCSD). Any modification to this procurement effort shall be made by addendum issued by the SLCSD Purchasing Department. February 4, 2025 - Contract award announced The project, located at 241 North 300 West in downtown Salt Lake City, will replace the current school and will be rebuilt on the same site. A feasibility study was conducted regarding this project and is attached to this RFP. Refer to Attachment B. West High is a prominent school within not only Salt Lake City but the State of Utah, which required an open and engaged planning process. The feasibility study team carried out a full visual analysis of the existing conditions of the campus. This effort was then supplemented with information from the West High Administration team and the Salt Lake City School District facilities team. To gain an understanding of the spatial needs for a new West High School, extensive workshops were held with the teachers, administration, and staff to determine the programs that need to be accommodated within the building, based not only on what the school currently supports, but also what spaces need to be included for West High in the next 100 years of operation. Concurrent with the workshops and programming meetings, 14 tours of recently completed high schools both within the Wasatch Front and in the western US to understand what design elements, operational attributes, and programs resonated with the West High School faculty and administration. While a final rebuild scenario has not yet been determined, there is a preferred option of a rebuild on the east side of 300 West. This is noted within the feasibility study as Option 3.
