New construction of an educational facility in Waterford, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the construction of a educational facility.
A detailed scope of work has not been determined. As of October 17, 2025, this project is underway. The original solicitation is below for reference: The Work includes construction as indicated on the construction documents. The project details include demolition and abatement of the existing school (Phase 1) followed by a new 86,000+/- SF early childhood elementary school (Phase 2 to be bid at a later date). This is an unoccupied campus. The work has been divided into the following bid packages: Bid Package Name & Number DAS Prequalification Classification BP02A - Demolition & Abatement DEMOLITION Each Bid shall be accompanied by a bid security in the form of a Bid Bond in an amount not less than Ten Percent (10%) of the total amount of the base bid. Said Bid Bond shall be issued by a surety that is licensed to do business in the State of Connecticut and is rated A-(VII) or better by A.M. Best. The bid security shall be drawn in favor of Gilbane Building Company. Bids received without such bid bond will be considered non-responsive and therefore rejected, no exceptions. In the event of a re-bid, each bid must be accompanied by a new Bid Bond. Bid Bonds submitted for previous bids are not valid and will not be accepted. Bids received for re-bids without such bid bond will be considered non-responsive and therefore rejected, no exceptions. Reference Section 1iv Trade Contract Bid Bond Form in the Gilbane Project Manual. No oral, telephone or telegraphic proposals will be considered. All bids shall stand available for acceptance for a period of sixty (60) days from the date proposals are received. The Owner and/or Construction Manager reserves the right to reject any or all bids, without stating reasons therefore, including without limitation the right to reject any or all nonconforming, non-responsive, unbalanced, or conditional bids and to reject the bid of any bidder if the Owner and/or Construction Manager believes that it would not be in the best interest of the Owner or the project to make an award to that bidder, whether because the bid is not responsive or the bidder is unqualified or of doubtful financial ability or fails to meet any other pertinent standard or criteria established by the Owner and/or Construction Manager.
