Electrical, data cabling, new system racks, HVAC, and security are all-inclusive to these projects, but not necessarily required for all. In some cased, separate rooms must be built to meet general storage and housekeeping needs. Some schools’ scope of work may involve the relocation of existing wiring closets (including active and passive equipment) to a new location, hence this involves the rerouting/installation of conduits and the upgrade of existing cabling, power systems, lighting, fire alarm, and closet access systems. Any items that are demolished must be removed and disposed of by the contractor including any millwork, tac boards or other wall-mounted equipment. New system Racks are to be ordered through the contractors and should be done as early as possible to avoid any delays in procurement. All concrete and wall scanning should be done prior to July 1 st , 2025, if possible, to avoid delays. Please note that all closets should have all major construction completed and turned over to the IT department for commissioning no later than July 29, 2025. Some schools may allow access for earlier construction starts (to be determined during start-up meetings).
