Renovation and addition to a museum in Montreal, Quebec. Completed plans call for the addition of a 16,200-square-foot, three-story above grade museum; for the renovation of a 54,000-square-foot, three-story above grade museum; and museum.
Addition and alterations to the museum building. The scope of the project includes a relocation of the Museum entrance directly to the corner of Ste-Catherine and Jeanne-Mance and construction of an addition. The project will allow to: Ensure almost 100 % increase in spaces and exhibition halls; Redesign each space, from halls to circulation areas; Create new and expanded educational spaces; Transform an exterior facade that will be modified by the expansion of the main entrance and the added area on the 2nd floor; Optimize the Beverly-Webster-Rolph multimedia room; Create new spaces for the MAC store, including a bookstore and a café. TIMELINE: The owner has awarded a sub trade contractor for the first construction package relating to preparatory work realization that is now followed in the report under CRM ID Preparatory Work - Musée d'Art Contemporain de Montréal - 5362315. Construction is underway. Subsequent sub trade packages are anticipated in spring/summer 2022 and will be followed in new separate reports.
