Construction of residential, commercial and retail buildings on 17.39 acres of Canadian Pacific Railway land along Dewdney Avenue. Draft recommended scope includes the following: 1,200 residential units; mid-rise, mixed-use buildings on Dewdney Ave; grocery store and small-scale commercial amenities; high-density residential on southern edge; multi-purpose market building; mixed office and institutional building. TIMELINE: Conceptual planning is ongoing. A "Yards Neighbourhood plan" has been adopted by the city council committing to developing a net-zero community. Owner's current capital plans outline a total of $8.8 million in New Building Canada Funds for this project. Further update may be available mid-/late 2024. *NOTE: In 2018, the project was granted $33.6 million in joint funding from the federal, provincial and municipal governments. The majority of these funds are expected to go towards site remediation and clean-up.
