As of May 31, 2023, this project in the conceptual phase. A consultant has been selected for the project Information regarding design team and contractor selection has not been established. Although a firm timeline for construction has not been determined, construction is not expected to start prior to FY 2024. *The following solicitation for a design consultant has been preserved for historical reference: The scope of the work includes includes the addition of left turn lanes on Mount Vernon Road at Tilly Mill Road and at other adjacent intersecting roads. These modifications will improve the level of service and reduce rear end collisions along the corridor by providing turning vehicles a place of refuge. It will also reduce the number of angle collisions at Tilly Mill Road by enforcing proper lane assignments though the intersection. The concept also provides for improved pedestrian crossings as well as bike lanes and sidewalks on both sides of the roadway. *Project information, including timeline and contacts, has been obtained through public sources.
