Saving Project...

Site work, paving and addition to a mixed-use development in Vancouver, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the addition of a 43,000-square-foot, two-story above grade office development; for site work for a road / highway; and transportation facility.

The Centerm Expansion Project includes: A 78 metre berth extension to the existing wharf, the demolition and removal of several existing buildings and structures including the Ballantyne Pier, dredging and filling to create additional terminal space, 3,650 metres or new and relocated rail track, and the expansion, seismic upgrading and re purposing of the existing 2,800 square metre Ballantyne Cruise Terminal building into a new two-storey 4,000 square metre operations and administration building. Site: Heatley Ave, south shore of Burrard Inlet, Vancouver, BC. TIMELINE: Site preparation is underway to prepare for work to be done at various sites, including construction of a temporary parking lot for use during the duration of the construction. Dredging work is anticipated to begin shortly. Construction of the container terminal, including demolition of the existing building, will commence in fall 2019. The Design-Builder for the project is Centennial Expansion Partners: A joint venture between Dragados Canada Inc., Jacob Brothers Construction Inc., and Fraser River Pile and Dredge (GP) Inc. Total capital budget, including significant costs outside of the design-build contract, is $454 million.
