Site work, paving and new construction of an educational facility in Miami, Florida. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a 78,000-square-foot, four-story above grade educational facility.

This project is meant both to satisfy university space needs and to facilitate the enrollment growth and programmatic development of Honors consistent with our mandate to become "the centerpiece of undergraduate educational excellence" at Florida International University. The project is envisioned as a major multi-story addition to the Ernest R. Graham University Center or possibly a stand alone building near student housing. Both options are consistent with the campus master plan at the Modesto Maidique Campus. Main components of the facility will include administrative offices, student services offices, advising offices and support spaces together with computer and innovation labs, seminar and conference rooms. As of October 8, 2024, this project is in the planning phase. An architect has not been selected. A firm timeline for start of construction has not been determined. Construction is anticipated to be completed in 2027. This project is currently in the FY 2024-2028 CIP. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
