For the improvement of a certain section of STATE ROUTE 0309, Sec 355 in Luzerne COUNTY, Butler TOWNSHIP. The location of the project is as follows: From a point approximately 1 miles North from the intersection with SR 3022 at Segments 0260/ 0261 Offsets 0229 to a point approximately one (1) mile South from the intersection with SR 0080 (I-80) at Segment 0270/ 0271 Offsets 0059 along SR 0309 (North Hunter Highway), with a total work area length of 2,791 feet (0.529 miles). The project involves the replacement of the existing S.R. 0309 bridge over Nescopeck Creek. The existing bridge is a two-span rolled steel multi-girder bridge built in 1956 and is open to traffic with no weight restrictions. The project will replace the two-span structure with a single-span prestressed concrete structure and will also include reconstructing the approach roadway surface and upgrading existing drainage features. The project will be staged construction maintaining one lane of traffic in each direction throughout the construction period. Other work includes excavation, Pile structure foundation, temporary excavation support & protection, drainage, new guiderail, concrete curbing, E & S control measures, temporary traffic control, temporary fencing, permanent signing, pavement markings, landscaping and other miscellaneous construction work.
