Demolition, site work, new construction and renovation of a civil project in Oakland, California. Completed plans call for the demolition of a water / sewer project; for the renovation of a water / sewer project; for site work for a water / sewer project; and for the construction of a water / sewer project.

Work includes four sites: 1)At the University Pumping Plant site in Berkeley, California: Demolish existing pumping plant; construct a new above ground reinforced concrete pumping plant; furnish and install a mechanical pump skid with two 15-HP vertical turbine pumps and motors with related piping, valves, and instruments; construct s ite improvements, and perform related required work located on District property. 2)At the University Reservoir site in Oakland, California: Demolish the existing 0.5-MG welded-steel reservoir; construct one 0.09-MG steel reservoir, concrete valve pits, and associated piping. 3)At the 98th and Sequoia Rate Control Stations sites in Oakland, California: Remove and dispose of valves, electrical equipment, and associated piping at 98th Avenue Rate Control Station; demolish existing access platform at 98th Avenue Rate Control Station; demolish and replace valves, mechanical equipment, electrical equipment, associated piping including all appurtenances and fittings at the Sequoia Rate Control Station. 4)At the Oak Rate Control Station site in Hayward, California: Demolish existing concrete vault, valves, mechanical equipment, electrical equipment, associated piping including all appurtenances and fittings; demolish and replace valves, electrical equipment and associated piping including all appurtenances and fittings at the flow meter vault and perform related required work as shown on the drawings and as specified herein. Provide traffic control for 30 working days for performing related required work, located as shown on Drawings and as specified herein. Estimated cost of this work is between $12,000,000 and $13,000,000 This project will require multiple trades and types of work; for example (note: this list is not all-inclusive): demolition, saw-cutting, hazardous materials handling, grading, excavation, fill, concrete, shotcrete, rebar, waterproofing, roofing, tank construction, painting, industrial coatings, structural steel, bolting, timber construction, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, pipeline, plumbing, fire protection, crane equipment, handrails, guardrails, ladders, gratings and railings, doors and windows, fencing, trucking, hauling, hydroseeding, landscaping, paving, and other required work and trades. The contractor/subcontractor performing the electrical work for this contract is required to be a District pre-qualified electrical subcontractor. See Instructions to Bidders Article 6 for more information. The Prime Contractor and its subcontractors are strongly encouraged to attend the jobsite inspection where a sign-in sheet will be provided. Requirements of the District's Contract Equity Program including the Local Hire component will be discussed and explained at the jobsite inspection. The bid walk will then proceed to the Oak Rate Control Station, located on Oak Street, approximately 120 feet from the corner of Oak Street and Grove Way in Hayward. These are the only times that University reservoir, University Pumping Plant building, Oak, 98th and Sequoia Rate Control Stations will be open for inspection. No photography by the Attendees will be allowed. The District will take photographs, as requested by the Attendees, restricted to the work zone. The District will release photographs to Attendees after the bid walks, pending review by the District. All Attendees are required to have a photo ID and sign a confidentiality agreement not to share, sell, or publish photos. For jobsite inspection questions only, call Javier Prospero at (510) 287 2065. Proposals to perform the work shall be made on the forms provided and shall be submitted complete, including bid bond and list of subcontractors, in accordance with the requirements of the Specifications. ll work covered by the contract shall be completed within eight hundred and ten ( 810) calendardays after the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. Concurrent work at the sites should be expected for completion of this project within the duration stated above Performance and payment bonds for not less than 100 percent of the contract price are required. This is a public works contract. Prevailing wages are required on this contract. A copy of the prevailing wage rates is on file and available for inspection by any interested party on request at the District's Specifications and Engineering Support Section. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations All Contractors bidding on a public works project and all Subcontractors of any tier shall be registered with the State Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Section 1725.5 of the Labor Code
