As of February 6, 2024, an architect has been selected for the project. A firm timeline for construction has not been established. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The City of Olathe, Kansas, Infrastructure Focus Area is requesting qualified design firms to submit qualifications for the preparation of design documents for the following project: Prairie Center Park Improvements: This project will construct a new parking facility that is appropriately sized to accommodate visitors for baseball (fields 5-8) and other sports & park activities, a large shelter near the pond that includes a destination playground and a restroom facility, and an entry drive from Hedge Lane to the new parking facility. Improvements will include new pavement construction, curb and gutter, medians, lighting, sidewalks, storm sewers, trail system expansion and disc golf realignment. The project will include a survey of existing conditions, utility coordination, site analysis, site design, cost estimates, developing construction plans in accordance with Olathe specifications, coordination with Olathe, assistance with bidding of projects for construction and assistance as needed throughout construction.
