Construction of improvements and paving required to address traffic operations capacity, and safety needs along a 30 km section of Highway 400 from 1 km south of Highway 89 to the junction at Highway 11. The limits proposed are from Hwy 89 to Essa Rd widening to 10 lanes; from Essa Rd to Bayfield St: widen Hwy 400 from six to 10 lanes; from Bayfield St to the Junction at Hwy 11: widen Hwy 400 from six to eight lanes. The scope may include resurfacing to Essa Township 8th Line, Simcoe, and bridge replacements at Innisfil Creek Bridge. The scope will include improvements to the following interchanges to accommodate the ultimate 10 lane highway widening, and address operational and geometric needs: Hwy 89, Innisfil Beach Rd, Molson Park Dr, Essa Rd, Dunlop St, Bayfield St, and Duckworth St; installation of a median concrete barrier; construction of noise walls at warranted locations; installation of "high-mast" illumination north of Molson Park Dr to Duckworth St and improve illumination at all interchanges; replacement of the median sewer and improve the culverts and drainage as necessary. TIMELINE: Demolition began October 1, 2022, for construction of the replacement structure. Construction will proceed through 2022 and early spring/summer, 2023. *The Innisfil 4th Line bridge is followed under report number 3520763. The detailed design for the bridges from Sunnidale to Dunlop are being completed by McIntosh Perry.
