Site work for a civil project in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Design plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and road / highway.
The scope of work includes the widening of Kenaston Boulevard (from four lanes to six lanes) from Taylor Avenue to the St James Bridge and structural improvements and widening of two bridges over the Assiniboine River. TIMELINE: Funding is required. A report will be received at the October 6, 2025 Standing Policy Committee on Public Works & it will be recommended that the project be referred to the 2026 budget process and that the project begins no later than 2027. That a request for $5 million be referred to the 2026 budget process to begin property acquisitions related to the Route 90 Improvement Project. Detailed design timing is TBD; council approval is required. Further update may be available spring 2026. *Construction is subject to Council's approval of the project and budget. If approved, construction is estimated to take 6 years to complete.
