Site work, paving, outdoor lighting, new construction and remodeling of a mixed-use development in Scarborough, Ontario. Design plans call for the remodel of a transportation facility; bridge / tunnel; and for the construction of a parking garage.
Construction of extension of Line 2 (Bloor-Danforth Subway) from Kennedy Station to Scarborough Centre. This subway extension will replace and improve the carrying capacity of the aging Scarborough Rapid Transit (SRT) line, eliminate the need for SRT customers to transfer to and from the subway at Kennedy Station, and continue to provide a rapid transit connection to Scarborough Centre. TIMELINE: The owners have completed an Environmental Assessment and Environmental Project Report (EPR) for the planned extension of Line 2 (Bloor-Danforth Subway), express from Kennedy Station to Scarborough Centre. Since 2021, the TTC held multiple rounds of engagement with customers, local residents and businesses, local Councillors, local BIAs, and other interested stakeholders on the Line 3 Bus Replacement service. The TTC Board approved decommissioning of the Scarborough RT (SRT) in 2023 and converting a portion of the Scarborough RT right-of-way into a dedicated busway. The project has progressed to 60 per cent of the design. Further tender and construction timing will be finalized in 2025 pending approvals.
