New construction of a museum in Peterborough, Ontario. Completed plans call for the construction of a 65,000-square-foot, one-story above grade museum.
Construction of a new Canadian Canoe Museum that will house the world's largest collection of canoes, kayaks and paddled watercraft. The structure will be cast-in-place concrete with a serpentine glass curtain wall. The interior finishes are primarily exposed concrete and drywall with a water feature, café, event space, retail store, and a close to 5,000 square-metre intensive green roof. TIMELINE: Site has been finalized; land purchase agreements are in place. Early works and site mobilization/preparations have started as of October 18, 2021. Opening is expected by summer 2023. *Total project cost is estimated at approx. 40 million.
