Site work for a transportation facility in St. Albert, Alberta. Conceptual plans call for site work for a transportation facility.
Construction of a 7 km Light Rail Transit (LRT), intended to begin at the Naki Transit Centre and head north on the east side of St. Albert Trail. With a terminus in north St. Albert on the west side of St. Albert Trail, the alignment is envisioned to transition from the east side to the west side in the vicinity of Erin Ridge Road. Three LRT stations are envisioned between the north and south terminus. This includes a station north of Hebert Road/Gervais Road, a station north of St. Anne Street/Sturgeon Road, and a station north of Giroux Road/Boudreau Road. TIMELINE: Project is conceptual and currently not included in the owner's 10-year capital plan. Timelines for detailed design, tender and construction are unknown at this time. Further update may be available in 2026. *Project cost estimated at $1.1 Billion (2015 dollars).
