Site work for a water / sewer project in Sainte-Rose-du-Nord, Quebec. Working plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

Construction of a new sanitary sewer system, an aerated lagoon-type treatment plant with an underground pumping station and an overflow, as well as a discharge pipe, a road leading to the new station, including drinking water supply and electrical connection. Urban development took place mainly in the Anse-à-Théophile sector giving access to the Saguenay Fjord. This developed area is located on rue du Quai. The Municipality is currently served by various unit sewer systems. Currently, the sewage collected is discharged into the Saguenay Fjord without any treatment. For their part, sumps are routed either directly into the Saguenay or into a submerged outfall discharging into the Saguenay River directly into the said inlet. In an attempt to regularize the wastewater situation, the Municipality commissioned a preliminary study by WSP. The current network will be converted into a storm sewer system. This solution has been accepted by the Municipality and the MAMH. However, the report does not present the final stage of the preliminary study, the preliminary design of the chosen solution. The Municipality of Sainte-Rose-du-Nord therefore wishes to grant a firm of consultants a mandate to carry out the preliminary design of the chosen WSP preliminary study solution and the design of construction plans and specifications. TIMELINE: 80% of design is complete. Tender for general contractor is anticipated in late 2024/early 2025. Construction will start in 2025. Further update in winter, 2024/2025.
