Site work for a civil project in Belleville, Ontario. Design plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and road / highway.
Rehabilitation of the existing structure and twinning of the Norris Whitney Bridge at Hwy 401 - 10km from Wallbridge-Loyalist IC easterly to 5km east of Hwy 62 IC, and Highway 62 Norris Whitney Bridge, Belleville. The Recommended Plan developed as part of the Transportation Environmental Study Report includes: Widening of Highway 62 from two lanes to four lanes over the Bay of Quinte; Construction of a new two-lane bridge to the east of the existing Norris Whitney Bridge with provisions for a shared use active transportation path on the bridge; Rehabilitation of the existing Norris Whitney Bridge; Access changes and modifications to Zwick’s Park in Belleville; Intersection improvements at Zwick’s Park / Bay Bridge Road and County Road 3; Drainage and storm water management improvements, including the construction of two new storm water management facilities and grass swales; Illumination improvements; Relocation of impacted utilities; and, Modifications to some property accesses and acquisition of property. TIMELINE: Design is ongoing. Updates may be available summer 2025. Construction budget and timing has not been finalized at this time.
