Site work and new construction of a laboratory facility in Henderson, Nevada. Working plans call for the construction of a 14,714-square-foot laboratory facility.

This phase includes an approximately 14,714-square-foot new police forensic laboratory facility to include offices, work areas, laboratory rooms, processing rooms, restrooms, break room, etc. Functional areas of this building will include controlled substance analysis, toxicology (blood drug), blood alcohol, fingerprint (comparison and identification), tenprint, and evidence processing and control. All existing lab equipment currently in use at the existing Lead Street location is to be relocated and reused in this new facility in addition to new equipment . This project is considered phase 1 of a larger complex which is intended to meet the needs through 2025. This project is currently in the City of Henderson FY 2019-2023 CIP. Per the owner, as of January 27, 2022, the project is wrapping up schematic design and is heading into design development. The owner states that construction is anticipated to begin in late August or early September 2022. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
