The street widening project has been designed to include widening the north side of Gaffney Lane due west of McVey Lane in order to install a new sidewalk and curb on the north side of the roadway and to install a speed table (speed bump) across Gaffney Lane. Additional work will include underground sanitary sewer and stormwater utility work. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ As of July 12,2019 All bids were rejected. They anticipate re-advertising the bid in winter or early spring of next year ENGINEER'S ESTIMATE: ~$392,000 The project includes: 1. Furnish, install and remove temporary traffic control devices and temporary erosion control measures. 2. Cold plane approximately 600 square yards of asphalt concrete roadway. 3. Complete approximately 960 cubic yards of excavation. 4. Construct approximately 380 tons of 3 to 4-inch thick ACP and approximately 500 cubic yards of aggregate base. 5. Construct a concrete speed table. 6. Construct approximately 490 linear feet of concrete curbs, and approximately 3,150 square feet of concrete sidewalks and driveways. 7. Complete manhole and other structure grade adjustments. 8. Construct approximately 160 linear feet of PVC sanitary sewer pipe and approximately 240 linear feet of HDPE and PVC storm sewer pipe. 9. Install 2 storm sewer inlets, 1 manhole, 2 cleanouts, and make connections to existing storm and sanitary sewer pipe. 10. Construct 4 potable water service connections. 11. Restore roadway signing and permanent pavement markings. 12. Place topsoil, plant trees, and complete approximately 2,000 square feet of permanent seeding. 13. Perform additional and incidental work as called for by the Specifications and Plans. Addenda, clarifications and notices will be distributed through the Citys planholder system. The City is not responsible for failure of bidders to receive notifications of changes or corrections made by the City and posted . Questions submitted on this site will be answered individually if considered informal. Those questions considered to be substantive will be responded to through the addenda process. No bid will be received or considered unless the bid contains a statement by the bidder, as part of their bid, that the provisions of ORS 279C.840 or 40 U.S.C. 276a shall be complied with, a statement as to resident bidder status, and whether the bidder is licensed under ORS 468A.720 (no asbestos removal is contemplated for this project). Prior to submission of its bid, the bidder shall be registered with the Oregon Construction Contractors Board, and thereafter comply with the requirements of ORS 701.005 to 701.137. Each proposal must be submitted on forms prescribed by the City and accompanied by a certified check, cashiers check, or bid bond in an amount equal to 10 percent (10%) of the total amount bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a faithful performance bond and a labor and material payment bond each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of contract. The successful bidder will also be required to furnish a statutory public works bond in the amount of thirty thousand dollars ($30,000.00). Evidence of workers compensation insurance will be required before the work shall commence. The City will investigate and determine the qualifications of the apparent low bidder prior to awarding the contract. The City reserves the right to reject any bid not in compliance with all prescribed public bidding procedures and requirements, and may reject all bids, if it is in the public interest to do so.
