Engineering Design, ROW acquisition, and construction of approximately 1.1 miles of greenway trail and trailhead. This segment will provide a connection from Ligon Mill Road to Burlington Mills Road and ultimately to Raleigh's Neuse River Greenway via the Wake Forest Connector bridge. The 38 parking spaces trailhead on Ligon Mill Road is designed and constructed under this project and will align with NCDOT with B-5318 - Ligon Mill Road bridge replacement, underpass and realignment project. The project has two bridges and five boardwalk sections. As of july 21, 2022, this project is currently in the FY 2022-2027 CIP . Funding for this project is allotted in the city's capital improvement plan for construction Fy 2025. A firm timeline has not been established; however, construction is scheduled for Fiscal Year 2022. This phase consists of 1.1 miles of greenway trail and trailhead with parking provide connection between existing trails. This segment will provide a connection from Ligon Mill Road, south, to Burlington Mills Road. This trail will connect to the southern portion of the existing Smith Creek Greenway and ultimately to Raleigh's Neuse River Greenway via the Wake Forest Connector bridge. The trailhead will also be developed with parking on Ligon Mill Road near Song Sparrow Drive. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
