Renovation of a conference / convention center in Pomona, California. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a 43,000-square-foot conference / convention center.
This project will provide a seismic retrofit for the Kellogg West Conference Center (#76), a 42,600 GSF dining and conference facility, that is sited adjacent to an active earthquake fault and is structurally deficient to meet current California Building Code requirements. The upgrades to the building will remedy the building structure in conformance with seismic requirements, correct serious accessibility code deficiencies, and abate asbestos and other hazardous materials present in the areas of alteration. The building has a DSA seismic Level 6 rating. The Cal Poly Pomona Foundation will provide the funding. This project is currently in the FY 2026-2031 CIP. Per the owner, as of July 9, 2025, construction on this project will not be starting for several years. A firm timeline for design has not been determined. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
