Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to an educational facility in Los Angeles, California. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a 188,000-square-foot educational facility.
This project will renovate approximately 150,000 GSF of Martin Luther King Hall (#3), constructed in 1962. This project will remediate an estimated $73.7 million in deferred renewal by upgrading the HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and exterior building systems, and provide modernized spaces to accommodate instructional and academic support functions displaced by future major renovation projects. This project will also demolish a portion of the building that is being replaced as part of the Classroom Replacement project, resulting in a loss of 5,907 lecture FTE. This project is currently in the California State University's FY 2025-2029 CIP. Per the owner, as of February 25, 2026, this project is in conceptual and is not funded for design or construction at this time.
