This project is for the design and construction of a new terminal building to be constructed as part of the east side terminal area development. This project is eligible for ATP Funds thru the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. The Airport Master Plan Update includes a modern terminal building as part of the east side development. The new facility will include modern day design and material considerations. It will also enable the future relocation of the remainder of Parallel Taxiway A to meet C-II design. The project consists of a new approximately 10,600 square foot single-story building with mezzanine as part of the planned Eastside Development of Kansas City-Lee's Summit Regional Airport. Structural components include slab-on-grade, structural steel frame, open-web steel joists, metal decking, and both membrane and standing-seam metal roofing. Architectural components include face brick and composite metal wall panels, insulated glass storefront, gypsum board systems, specialty suspended ceiling systems, acoustical wall panels, plastic-laminate casework, quartz countertops, epoxy terrazzo flooring, resinous flooring, carpet tile, ceramic wall tile, paint, custom millwork. Furniture is owner-provided. Civil components include mass excavation, site utilities, paving, landscaping. Mechanical components include a roof-top unit with ducted, zoned VAV's. Plumbing components include restroom, break room, line service, and custodial fixtures, and roof drains. Electrical components include a photovoltaic rooftop array, light fixtures, data and power. Audio/Visual includes systems for conference rooms, televisions, speakers for mass notification. The project is included in the City's 2026-2030 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of July 30, 2025, construction bids were due June 9, 2025. Awaiting awarded contractor. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
