Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Calgary, Alberta. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a municipal facility.
Plans call for a new 640,000 sq ft Civic Centre integrating typical recreation centre programming into a holistic development. Amenities to be incorporated include city services such as fire halls and residential/commercial and office functions. The development is expected to incorporate an energy sharing system between buildings other passive and active sustainable features. Project will aim for LEED Gold Certification. TIMELINE: A feasibility and master plan study was completed by the consultant. At this time, the owner is proceeding with lifecycle upgrades to the existing facility (project is being followed separately). There are currently no plans to build an all new facility. Coverage of this report is discontinued.
