As of 02/08/2022 This project has not been awarded. The Project consists of new construction of an approximately 26,400 sq. ft., 900-seat auditorium on the campus of Crest High School. Building Construction will not start until June of 2022. There will be an immediate award and sitework will start soon thereafter. Start Date: Work of this phase shall commence on June 9, 2022 Substantial Completion: August 4, 2023.. Final Completion: The Contractor shall complete the Work within 30 calendar days after Substantial Completion. The purpose of the subsurface exploration and geotechnical engineering evaluation was to explore the subsurface conditions at the site, collect representative samples of soil for examination in our laboratory, and provide conclusions and recommendations for design and construction of the proposed auditorium located at Crest High School, 800 Old Boiling Springs Road in Shelby, North Carolina. CVET's scope of work included the following: o Drilling of five (5) soil test borings; o Collection of representative samples of soil from the soil test borings; o Classification of collected soil samples and laboratory testing as necessary; o Preparation of boring logs, boring location plan, and general subsurface profile; o Evaluation of the encountered subsurface conditions at the site; and o Preparation of this geotechnical report. The project consists of the subsurface exploration and geotechnical engineering evaluation to aid in the design and construction of the proposed auditorium located at Crest High School, 800 Old Boiling Springs Road in Shelby, North Carolina. The subject property is an existing high school campus. The proposed auditorium is to be constructed immediately south of the high school building in an existing asphalt paved parking area. Elevations across the proposed site ranges from approximately 845 to 825 feet above mean sea level (amsl) (Cleveland County GIS). Finished grades for the proposed development have not been provided at the time of this report, although based upon the existing site conditions we anticipate finished floor elevations (FFE) to be approximately 838 feet above mean sea level (amsl). Based up the anticipated FFE, maximum cut and fill depths to facilitate finished grades will be on the order of 3.0 and 8.0 feet, respectively. *Addendum 1, 2 and 3 have been issued.
