Plans call to construct a new 135 feet fixed bridge and demolish the existing bridge. The Department of Transportation is in the process of deciding which type of bridge will replace the current one and a decision is expected in the Fall of 2026. A timeline for design and construction has not yet been established. As June 4 2025, this project is in the planning phase. An engineer has not been selected. A firm timeline for construction has not been determined.
