This Request for Tender (the RFT) is an invitation by the City of Cambridge (the City) to prospective bidders to submit bids for Elgin Street North Road Reconstruction Phase 1 as further described in Section A of the RFT Particulars (Appendix D) (the Deliverables). The work includes approximately 580 metres of road reconstruction, including the removal and replacement of asphalt, curb and gutter, sidewalks, driveways, existing watermain, sanitary sewer, and storm trunk sewer. It also involves the construction of approximately 440 m of 3.6 m2 x 1.8 m storm box culvert, 670 m of sanitary sewer (various sizes) 790 m of watermain (various sizes), and over 1310 m of curb. Additional works include the construction of 1120 m of multi-use trail and 2730 m2 of concrete sidewalk, along with other miscellaneous works required for the reconstruction of Elgin Street North from approximately 100 m south of Samuelson Street to approximately 120 m north of Galt Avenue. The project also includes dewatering (including treatment and disposal), excess soil management, installation of a gas protection system, settlement monitoring, and surface asphalt placement in the following year.
