Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Edmonton, Alberta. Completed plans call for the construction of a transportation facility.
The work includes, but not limited to, construction of a 4.5-km light-rail extension south from Century Park station (the current terminus) to the new Ellerslie station. The project will include two new permanent LRT stations, a new operations and maintenance facility (OMF), and integration with and expansion of the Heritage Valley Park and Ride facility and transit centre. Construction of a 4.5 km LRT extension from Century Park to Allard/Desrochers; to run between 127 and 135 Streets. The Project will extend the Capital line southward from the current terminus at Century Park to Ellerslie Rd via 111 St and a Right of Way just east of 127 Street, south of AHD. This will be a high floor LRT and to include an underpass at 23 Avenue; bridges crossing Blackmud Creek and Anthony Henday Drive; and a new station at Twin Brooks; and an operations and maintenance facility south of Anthony Henday Drive. Method of delivery will be Design-Build. TIMELINE: Design-Build contract has been awarded to Capital Line Design-Build Ltd. (comprised of Aecon, Ledcor, and AECOM as the Design Partner).
