Site work and new construction of a playground / park / athletic field in Ardmore, Pennsylvania. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a playground / park / athletic field; and for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.

Implement redevelopment of Schauffele Green as a public plaza providing space for activities such as outside dining, public gathering and open-air entertainment. There are no outdoor public spaces for these types of uses available in Ardmore currently. The Schauffele municipal parking lot #6 is located on Lancaster Avenue and Cricket Terrace and between Rittenhouse Place and Cricket Avenue. Currently the site provides 79 public parking spaces, of which 31 are long-term (12-hour) meters. The site is surrounded by small office buildings and retail uses, including the Fermentaria Brew Pub and a pizza restaurant. The redevelopment of Schauffele Green was planned as a public/private project consistent with the Ardmore Transit Center and Business District Revitalization Project. Proposed improvements could include: a public amphitheater, new trees and plantings, outdoor dining areas and new sidewalks. The amphitheater would be used on weekends and evenings for events and on summer nights for outdoor concerts and movies sponsored by Ardmore Initiative. Since Schauffele Plaza was envisioned, the Ardmore Business District has gone through significant growth in retail and businesses, causing increased pressure for short-term parking. With the One Ardmore Place completed, along with Cricket Court and Ardmore Station projects moving forward over the next few years, retaining Schauffele as a municipal parking lot is recommended. (C Project) As February 24, 2023, this project is currently in the FY 2023 - 2028 CIP. Funding for this project is allotted in the city's capital improvement plan for construction FY 2026. A firm timeline has not been established; however, construction is scheduled for Fiscal Year 2026. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
