Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Blacksburg, Virginia. Completed plans call for the construction of a 102,700-square-foot, four-story above grade laboratory facility; and for site work for a educational facility.

The building will include 14 dry laboratories, 10 wet laboratories, support/storage space for all the laboratories, five classrooms, faculty offices, graduate teaching assistant work-space, and library study areas and project work areas As of March 11 2020, This project is in pre-construction phase and has named an awarded general contractor. Although a firm construction timeline has not been established, it is expected to begin summer 2020 and be completed by fall 2022. As of March 27, 2020, the office for the awarded general contractor has been confirmed. The construction timeline is dependent on funding approval that is expected to be available second quarter 2021. Final pricing is expected to be done summer 2020 so it is recommended that all who are interested, make sure they are pre-qualified with this contractor in order to receive notice of that bid. As of July 31, 2020, the project has had preliminary pricing so the Owner can anticipate the approximate cost. There is no funding for this project currently and it is hoped that it will be funded by summer 2021. Construction is hoped to start Fall 2021.
