Major Capital Renovation and Workplace 2.0 Fit Up of the Government of Canada owned #25/55 St. Clair Avenue East office complex in Toronto, Ontario. The Arthur Meighen Building, located at #25/55 St. Clair Avenue East, is scheduled to undergo a major renovation beginning in July 2018. The building will be vacated in order to undertake a major renovation / rehabilitation which will include demolition and replacement of all building mechanical, electrical and life safety systems, roof replacement, building envelope improvements as well as renovation of all floor plates to accommodate newly fit up office space. The renovations will make the building one of the first federal "carbon neutral" buildings in Canada. A "zero carbon" building uses carbon free renewal energy, which offsets any carbon emissions associated with its operations. TIMELINE: Construction began September 2018; awarded sub trades are not being released. Phase 1 completion of base building is targeted for spring 2022; tenants begin move in summer 2022. Phase 2 completion of fit-up is targeted for summer 2022; remaining tenants move in fall 2022. *The federal government invests 277 million to renovate this building; this budget includes design, demolition, construction, fees and supervision.
