Site work, paving, new construction, renovation and addition to an educational facility in Winston Salem, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; and for the addition of a educational facility.
The project includes the renovation/addition to the existing Philo Hill Magnet Academy in Winston Salem, NC. The existing classroom wing will be demolished with a new classroom wing and kitchen being constructed on the southern portion of the project. Existing areas to remain will be repurposed into new classrooms and spaces. The new classroom wing will be structural steel and brick veneer. The new kitchen area will be load-bearing CMU and brick veneer. Renovated area includes demo of existing glass and frames, finishes, ceilings, and all work above ceiling. Renovated area will include all new sprinkler, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical, new storefront at existing glass locations. Existing flooring is terrazzo in corridors with VCT in classrooms and gym. Current ceilings are 2x2 lay-in ceiling tiles. All new doors will be required. Sitework includes new paving at car entrance and access drive, new pad for new classroom wing and kitchen. The owner is Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools. Ersoy Brake Appleyard Architects, P.A. is the designer. The site is located at 410 Haverhill Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27127. Contractors are invited to pre-qualify for the following Trade Packages (but not limited to): Demolition, Concrete, Stained and Polished Concrete, Masonry, Structural Steel, Casework, Science Casework, Roofing, Doors & Hardware, Glass & Glazing, Drywall, Tile, Acoustical Ceilings and Panels, Flooring, Athletic Flooring, Painting, Lockers, Elevators, Food Service, Window Treatments, Elevator, Fire Suppression, Plumbing, HVAC, Electrical, Sitework, and Landscaping. All Pre-Qualified bidders are required to seek Minority, Women, Business Enterprises (MWBE) participation. The minimum goal for this project is 10% participation. Bidders must be properly licensed under all state laws, regulations, and ordinances governing the respective trades and work to be performed. The General Statutes of the State of North Carolina applicable to license requirements, submission of bids, and award of public contracts shall be observed in the receiving of bids and awarding of contracts for the work. Further information may be required in addition to this pre-qualification statement based on your response. These items may include additional financial statements, proof of applicable licenses, certification status, safety program/policy, drug and alcohol program/policy, additional project experience, and or certificates of insurance. Completing this statement does not guarantee pre-qualification. The CM and Owner reserve the right to reject any or all pre-qualifications.
