Site work and paving for a road / highway in South Kingstown, Rhode Island. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
This scope of work for this project includes all labor, materials, equipment, and related services (including but not limited to survey and layout) necessary to construct Segment 4A of the William C. O'Neill Bike Path. The route of the path as shown on the project drawings begins at the terminus of the existing William C. O'Neill Bike Path (Phase 3) at Mumford Road, crosses Mumford Road, and then follows the edge of the Narragansett Elementary School property to a point, and then turns to follow the edge of the practice soccer field to an ending point at the Narragansett Community Center parking lot. The total length of Segment 4A is approximately 1,750 linear feet. The finished paved width will be twelve (12) feet, and the project includes storm water and water quality measures as noted on the plans, as well as fencing (chain link) and ancillary landscaping. In general, the technical specifications follow RIDOT standards for bike path construction. This project is being funded from the Rhode Island Capital Fund Green Economy Bond Bikeway Development Program. The Contractor shall comply with all terms and conditions of said program, including but not limited to filing of certified payroll reports, progress reports, allowing reasonable site access to State officials, etc. The bidders attention is called to the fact that the project site is primarily located within the grounds of the Narragansett Elementary School. The successful contractor must contain his\her operations to the immediate proposed route within the limits of disturbance as noted on the plans - access to other parts of the School property, including the building, will be strictly monitored and prohibited. The Town will provide a staging area in the parking lot of the Community Center; the contractor must provide Porta-Johns, and keep the staging area neat and clean at all times. Bid Security, in the form identified within the Standard Instructions to Bidders, and in the amount of five (5) percent of the total Bid amount, must accompany each Bid. The successful Bidder must furnish a Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond, in the specific formats as attached herein, both for the full value of the Bid Price, along with all required insurance certificates, within fifteen (15) calendar days after the award date in order to execute a Contract. Bidders are advised that this is a Prevailing Wage Rate project. The successful Bidder must submit Weekly Certified Payroll Reports, using applicable Federal (US Department of Labor) forms (included in the contract documents, as this project is being funded through RI Capital Fund Green Economy Bond Bikeway Development Program. Bidders should check the State Department of Labor and Training website for current prevailing wages at the time of bidding. The Town will not make adjustments to any bid award for subsequent prevailing wage changes. No bidder may withdraw his/her bid within ninety (90) days after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bid. The Town of Narragansett reserves the right to reject any/all bids, waive any informalities in the bids received and to accept and award the bid to the lowest qualified bid deemed most favorable to the interest of the Town of Narragansett. Individuals requesting interpreter services for the hearing impaired must notify the Finance Department (401)782-0644 three business days prior to the bid opening.
