*As of August 18, 2022, the Design Build Project is currently in its first phase. Construction began May 31, 2022, and is expected to go through mid-2025. The Project will provide improved capacity and operations for the I-15/Tropicana interchange, its surrounding roadway network, and HOV ramps at Harmon Avenue, consistent with the Department's current design standards and the Department's project traffic forecast for year 2040. The Project elements may include, but are not limited to, design and construction of structures, turning lanes, auxiliary lanes, pavements, retaining walls, drainage systems, signs and pavement markings, traffic signals, ATMs, ITS, lighting, safety devices, landscaping and aesthetic treatment, and other elements providing for the overall functionality of the roadway system. The Project will improve capacity and operations for the I-15/Tropicana Avenue interchange and surrounding roadway network. The Project is anticipated to consist of the following elements: A) Replace the existing Tropicana Ave. interchange and structure over I-15 for added capacity. B) Replace the existing flyover to allow for the widening of Tropicana Ave. over I-15 and to maintain existing connectivity. C) Add HOV ramps to and from the south at Harmon Avenue, allowing HOV direct access to the Las Vegas Strip. D) Modify signalized intersection and configuration of Dean Martin Drive and Tropicana Ave. to limit access to right-in and right-out. E) Modify or add active traffic management (ATM) sites along I-15. An EA has been completed for the Project, which contains additional information. The EA and the FONSI are available on the Website.
