Site work and renovation of a mixed-use development in Spring Lake, North Carolina. Working plans call for the renovation of a playground / park / athletic field; and for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.

As of March 14, 2023, this project is in the final planning phase. It is anticipate bidding will commence in September 2023, with construction starting in December 2023. Contract ID 16-14423-02A Advanced Planning, Design, and Construction Administration services for the initial development of the Long Valley Farm Visitor Day Use Area as identified by the current Park Master Plan. The design team must demonstrate historic preservation experience. There are three component phases to this project: Advanced Planning will include the inspection, evaluation, and conceptual plans for the existing Rockefeller House, Grist Mill, and Pavilion structures for renovation and adaptive reuse. This task will provide a record of the current condition of these structures, develop conceptual building restoration plans, and provide preliminary construction estimates based on the conceptual plans (OC-25). Design Services consisting of the preparation of construction documents for the Owner selected and approved concepts for the three structures from the Advanced Planning. In addition to three structures to be restored, the design of the initial development of the park, roughly based on Figure 9.3 of the Carvers Creek State Park Master Plan, will be part of the scope of work. This scope includes extending roadways and utility services to the Day Use Areas, construction of a vehicle bridge of Jumping Run, the construction of two parking areas, two restrooms, and two group picnic shelters. Construction Administration to implement the restoration of the three structures and the development of the Day Use Area, based on the prepared construction documents. NC Licensing Statement: In order to offer architectural, engineering, or landscape architectural services in response to this solicitation, the proposing firm must be properly licensed to practice Architecture, Engineering, or Landscape Architecture in the State of North Carolina. The method of contractor selection is not determined at this time.
