Site work for a civil project in Lynden, Ontario. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The New Lynden Water System (HD05B) involves the construction of a new ground water well, drinking water treatment system, reservoir storage, and booster station for the Town of Lynden to replace the existing system. The facility is designed to remove hydrogen sulphide (H2S) and treat the raw water from two wells (one existing and one new) for potable usage. The facility will consist of an air stripper system complete for hydrogen sulphide (H2S) removal and chlorination for disinfection. The new facility will include a two cell water storage reservoir that will provide water to four new high lift pumps, the pumps will feed treated water to the existing Lynden water distribution system. All treatment components of the facility will be installed within a new precast concrete building sitting atop the below grade reservoir. The Work includes but is not limited to the following: GENERAL: 1. Project startup including mobilization to the site; 2. Development, implementation, and maintenance of a site specific health and safety plan; and 3. Provision and maintenance of temporary facilities and controls including, but not limited to: a. Environmental controls; and b. Temporary connections of the existing facility and new treatment system to the Lynden distribution system. DEMOLITION: 1. Demolition, removals, and disposals of the existing 9.14m x 9.14m facility and equipment including foundation to 600mm below grade, the existing ground water well FDL-01 will remain and be refurbished; 2. Remove and replace existing asphalt driveway with new asphalt turnaround for access to existing well; and 3. Refurbish existing ground water well FDL-01 complete with new pump and piping providing 3.6 L/s to the new treatment system. SITE CIVIL: 1. Installation of new groundwater well and ancillary components for newly drilled well located on the site. (Well has been drilled and casing in place); 2. Install chain-link fencing around existing groundwater well and new groundwater well; 3. New station entrance construction; 4. Site drainage modifications of the impacted areas of the site; 5. Installation of culverts under new access road; 6. New access road to be finished with asphalt to the new treatment building and gravel to new groundwater well; 7. New yard piping including: 100 mm underground raw water piping and new 150 mm watermain; 8. Replacement of three 150 mm gate valves within chambers on Governors Road; 9. New septic tank and tile bed; and 10. Berm construction and landscaping. TREATMENT FACILITY: 1. Supply and installation of new precast concrete treatment building complete with doors and windows approximately 9m x 18m x 4m height; 2. New cast in place concrete reservoir (two cells) below treatment building; 3. Process treatment equipment treating 3.6 L/s of raw groundwater: a. Vendor supplied air stripper package complete with redundant blowers b. Static mixers, retention tank, flocculator c. Redundant transfer pumps d. Cartridge filter e. Redundant odour Control Blowers and f. Granulated Activate Carbon odour control system 4. Liquid chemical storage and feed systems including external fill stations for the following (approximately 1m3): a. Sodium Hydroxide and b. Sodium Hypochlorite 5. Gas Storage and Feed system for the following: a. Carbon Dioxide 6. High lift vertical turbine pumping system for supply of treated water to the Lynden distribution system at 6.9 L/s peak; and 7. Stainless steel process piping within the facility. ELECTRICAL: 1. Electrical supply and distribution including new exterior enclosed standby power generator with an integral diesel fuel tank; 2. Motor control centers and power wiring; 3. New pad mounted main electrical power transformer, supplied by Hydro One; 4. All wiring, cabling, and conduit to equipment in the treatment plant and well pumps with equipment rated to the appropriate area classification; 5. Installation of electrical duct banks between the new prefabricated building and both the new transformer and the new standby power generator; 6. Buried electrical feeds to each of the two wells from the treatment plant; 7. New area rated LED security lighting; 8. New area rated electrical outlets; 9. New treatment system instrumentation including but not limited to: flow indicating transmitters, level indicating transmitters, pH meters, temperature transmitters, chlorine residual analyzers, float switches, and a rain gauge; 10. New smoke/fire detectors, including instruments to be installed in the new precast concrete building; 11. Installation of a security system and ancillary components; 12. Coordination with Hydro One for connections and disconnections of the existing and new main electrical feeds; 13. Installation of all conduit, wiring, and termination of the new wiring at the new station programmable automated controller (PAC) panel; 14. Supply and installation of a new PAC panel; 15. New wide area network (WAN) panel; 16. Completion of required factory acceptance testing (FAT) works; 17. Completion of required site acceptance testing (SAT), commissioning, and training works; and 18. Demobilization and closeout. Project budget is estimated to be between $5.5M and $6M.
