Redevelopment of the existing Washago Centennial Park in the Township of Severn is located on the shores of Lake Couchiching and the gateway to the Trent-Severn Waterway. The park makes up 21 acres of public parkland in Washago and includes a peaceful picnic area, playground, pavilion, ball diamond and dog park. Boat launching is also available at the Municipal Dock located at the end of Quetton Street. The scope of work includes; , interior and exterior; Ensure existing hydro and water stations in former camping spots are operational and to code. Improve connecting links for; trail usage, existing canoeing and paddling routes. Improve existing look-out platforms for AODA compliance; slope of ramp, handrails, pathways up to the ramps; Create a multi-use area using existing space to host special events, ball diamond infield or outfields; parking improvements; Lighting improvements that will include, Exterior LED where not already completed, sports; lighting on diamonds, Interior, LED. Consideration to Dog Park improvements, add elements keeping maintenance into consideration. Storage garage on site to be renovated; roof, side walls, if internal structure sound, doors upon examination, electrical to code; All geo-technical services and topographical mapping costs to be included. TIMELINE: Construction on the site was completed in prior phases. Coverage of this report is discontinued. *The owner is proceeding with individual projects as capital funding is allocated. Projects that have gone to tender are followed separately. They include a playground replacement at Coldwater Fairgrounds, AODA Pathway improvements, and Washroom improvements.
