Site work and new construction of a municipal facility in Henderson, Nevada. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.

As of August 27, 2024, this project is in the conceptual phase. It is anticipated design will begin late fall/early 2025. A firm timeline for construction has not been determined. This project is included in the FY 2025-2030 CIP. A sustainably designed new visitor center for the Bird Viewing Preserve to be located northeast of pond 8 and include indoor/outdoor flexible interpretive and exhibit space, a large classroom/multi-purpose space that can be divided into two smaller spaces, a lobby/information desk, retail area, library, restrooms, staff space to include offices, break area, restroom, storage and cart storage. Site work will include a drop off area near the building, an entry road, parking lot for approximately 75 spaces plus bus parking, signage, lighting and landscape. A conceptual study was done in FY17 to determine scope and estimate of probable costs. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
