Site work and paving for a road / highway in Fort Chipewyan, Alberta. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
Construction of a 4-lane divided arterial, approx. 9 km long (between Tomlinson St., and West Airport Boundary Rd.) parkway, connecting the lower town site to the Saline Creek plateau including reconstruction/realignment of the Draper Road. Stage 1 includes full earthworks including tree clearing, earth cut and fill, grading, erosion protection, storm pond grading and outfalls and environmental mitigation. This stage will include the construction of an eight metre wide gravel road on the subgrade to provide interim access; and reconstruction of the Draper Road (1-3 years to complete). Stage 2 includes construction of a 2-lane undivided urban cross section roadway for Saline Creek Parkway. Work will also include paving of a multi-use trail, storm sewer installation for the parkway and roadway lighting (up to 2 years to complete). Stage 3 Final construction work to complete the 4-lane divided cross section of the parkway. TIMELINE: This project has been cancelled. No further design or construction is expected to ensue. Coverage of this report is discontinued.
