Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Mountain Top, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.

For the improvement of a certain section of STATE ROUTE 309, Sec D56 in LUZERNE COUNTY, DALLAS TOWNSHIP. The location of the project is as follows: From a point approximately 0.59 miles North of the intersection with SR 415 at Segment 0770 Offset 1165 to a point approximately 0.79 miles North of the intersection with SR 415 at Segment 0770 Offset 2205 along SR 309, Dallas Township. The proposed structure rehabilitation work includes: Reinforced Concrete Repair Type 2 inside the existing box culvert; excavation of the existing box culvert to remove and replace the top slab and the headwall for the last five feet at culvert outlet; removal of portions of the existing wingwalls at the culvert outlet; construction of a reinforced concrete cast-in-place end section at the culvert outlet; placement of waterproofing membrane on top of the existing/ proposed top slab of the box culvert; epoxy injection crack sealing; clearing and grubbing of the existing roadway embankment above the headwall to remove trees and vegetation; channel clearing of all debris and vegetation to restore free flow; and placement of intrusion grout bags, Class C Cement Concrete, and Selected Borrow Excavation Rock, Class R-6 to fill an existing scour hole and prevent further erosion and undermining of the structure. Construction will be completed using half-width staging to maintain traffic and temporary construction easements will be required at all four corners of the bridge. The traffic control during construction will be staged half width construction. All work contained within an overall length of 940 linear feet (0.178 miles) as indicated on the approved drawings included in the bid package.
