Site work for a water / sewer project in Leesburg, Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
This project funds the engineering, design and construction of the final cap and closure of a 15-acre site at the Loudoun County Solid Waste Management Facility. Closure of the Loudoun County Solid Waste Management Facility unit was initially proposed in four sequences. To minimize erosion and to improve storm water management controls, the fourth sequence closure was divided into two smaller projects, Sequence IV and Sequence V. The Department of General Services manages the Loudoun County Solid Waste Management Facility (Landfill). Closure operations and maintenance costs include maintenance of closed, lined and capped disposal space, erosion control structures and environmental monitoring in accordance with approved permit conditions, closure plan requirements and State regulations. No additional operational resources are required for the closure project. As of July 26, 2022, a contractor and engineer have been selected. Construction has already begun. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
