Milton Corridor project, which consists of an expansion of Milton GO Station, redevelopment of Meadowvale GO Station and a new Stations Operations West Facility. The scope of work will include; Milton GO Station building; Reconfiguration of parking lot layouts, bus loop, and passenger pick-up/drop-offs, Accessible connections to train and bus platforms, Upgrade of existing platform and infrastructure to support future layover of trains. Upgrade of parking lot and additional parking spaces, and Improved pedestrian connections and bicycle storage. Meadowvale GO Station; New station building, Reconfiguration of parking lot layouts, bus loop, and passenger pick-up/drop-offs, Accessible connections to train and bus platforms, Repair and replacement of damaged catch basins and storm sewer lines, Upgrade of parking lot, and Improved pedestrian connections and bicycle storage. Station Operations West Facility; Partial demolition and retrofit/renovation of a vacant office and warehouse facility to accommodate future office, warehouse and parking needs for GO operations, and new secured fleet vehicle parking lot. The project is part of the Metrolinx commitment to provide faster, more frequent and convenient transit service across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA) as part of the GO Regional Express Rail (RER) program. TIMELINE: Infrastructure Ontario has completed a pre-qualification of teams to Design-Build-Finance Regional Express Rail Milton Corridor Upgrades Project in 2021. As of October 2021 Metrolinx confirmed that the P3 procurement as envisioned for the Milton GO Station project will not be moving forward. Infrastructure Ontario notified the Proponent teams who were bidding on the project. Metrolinx is currently working with the Town of Milton on revised procurement plans to deliver on its transit infrastructure needs. Coverage of this report is discontinued.
