Site work and renovation of a transportation facility in Columbus, Georgia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a transportation facility; and for site work for a transportation facility.
** As of August 15, 2019 this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established. The Columbus Airport Commission is undertaking a renovation program of the passenger terminal facility at the Columbus Airport. The rehabilitation is comprised of the area within the existing terminal building. Significant renovations will include a majority of the public spaces but do not include the existing FAA tower interior or exterior, FAA ancillary spaces, the Columbus Airport Administration offices or other buildings on the property. The scope for the construction phase is based on a 14 month construction period. Construction phasing, temporary facilities, temporary walls and maintenance of traffic will be required to keep the terminal operational at all times. The intent of this renovation is to replace a majority of the building systems infrastructure and equipment and improve space adjacencies. Obsolete building infrastructure and support systems include but are not limited to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, communications, security systems, etc., as well as worn finishes that have exceeded their life expectancy and require replacement. Other improvements include the relocation and or renovation of office areas, ticketing counters, airline ticketing offices, rental car offices, hold rooms, security checkpoint location, ticketing and baggage claim lobbies. Work related to the renovation also includes building elements such as new millwork, painting, restrooms finishes, terrazzo flooring, and ceilings. No additions will be made to the exterior envelope of the terminal with the exception of new passenger boarding bridges, associated foundations and equipment, an exterior canopy for a new exterior baggage belt system. General exterior work includes cleaning, painting, exterior trim replacement, selected storefront replacement, limited exterior insulation finishing system (EIFS) replacement and repair, canopy soffit replacement, accent brick pavers, and exterior wall infill as required for new design. This rehabilitation project also included all associated demolition and waste removal work required for renovation. Bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the base bid will be required to accompany bids. Contract Bonding shall also be required. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive irregularities in bidding. Participation in the Owner''s Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program is required. The DBE goal for this contract is to be defined in the bid documents. Owner shall pay Contractor for completion of the Work in accordance with the Contract Documents an amount equal the accepted sum of Lump Sum Prices defined by specification division as indicated on the Bid Schedule submitted in the Bid Form.
