https://www.henryherald.com/news/senators-announce-grant-for-atlanta-speedway-airport-hangar/article_dd8cca80-5f36-11ef-8ded-17cb990948af.html WASHINGTON, D.C. -- U.S. Sens. Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff recently announced more than $38 million in new federal funding for infrastructure upgrades at airports across Georgia, including Atlanta Speedway Airport in Hampton. According to information from Warnock's office, Atlanta Speedway Airport will receive $815,432 for hangar construction. It was also announced that Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport will receive more than $30 million for taxiway, apron and terminal upgrades. The grants were awarded through the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Airport Infrastructure Grants (AIG) program and made possible by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. The latest round of funding made possible by the senators' Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. "Georgia is one of the most important aviation states in the nation. That's why I've fought tirelessly to bolster federal support for our airports since I came to the Senate, including in the recently passed FAA reauthorization law I was proud to champion," said Warnock. "Senator Ossoff and I are going to keep working to take Georgia's aviation economy to new heights." The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law has included about $619 million for Georgia's airports to improve efficiency, upgrade terminals and more. "Georgia's airports are a key driver of job creation and economic competitiveness. Alongside Senator Reverend Warnock, I am pleased to announce these new investments in Georgia's airports through our bipartisan infrastructure law, which will continue to deliver long-overdue upgrades to Georgia's infrastructure for years to come," Ossoff said. _________________ The project will construct a new FBO / terminal building and provide terminal area improvements.
