A firm timeline has not been established; however, construction is scheduled for Fiscal Year 2028. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA) requests a written proposal from qualified multi-disciplinary engineering consulting firms to provide professional engineering study and basis of design (BOD) report in connection with the Rehabilitation of Ash Handling Systems at the Water Resource Recovery Facility (WRRF). The main objective of this study is to evaluate potential alternatives for the rehabilitation of the ash handling system at the WRRF. The consulting firm shall provide recommendation based on the evaluation report for the most efficient, reliable and environmentally friendly alternative ash handling system. The following are some of the potential alternatives that need to be evaluated under this study: (1) Rehabilitation of Wet Ash Handling System only, (2) Rehabilitation of Dry Ash Handling System only, (3) an entirely new ash handling system based on the latest technology available in the industry and (4) investigate the need for a redundant ash handling system. The ash handling systems evaluation will require the consultant to bring together a multidisciplinary team, inclusive of civil/site, architectural, structural, process mechanical, building mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation/controls engineering disciplines.
