Site work, paving, outdoor lighting and new construction of a mixed-use development in New Orleans, Louisiana. Completed plans call for the construction of a 1,200-room hospitality development; restaurant; and retail development.
Proposed plans to create and execute a master plan for residential, entertainment, and retail spaces for the $557 million hotel, which will be attached to the convention center and include 1,200 rooms. In total, the mixed-use district surrounding the hotel will cover 39 acres. Also part of the plan is a 7.5-acre pedestrian park that is already under construction, interior and exterior upgrades to the convention center, and a transportation center for shuttles, taxis, and ride shares. As of November 25, 2024, portions of this project, including renovations to the convention center itself and infrastructure work to the surrounding mixed-use district, have begun construction. The hotel component is currently on hold but may restart in 2025.
