The 3rd St corridor from 5th Ave SE to 1st Ave NE and the Central Ave Corridor from 3rd St to 5th St NE has pavement conditions in fair condition, but the underground utilities vary in condition. The street lighting is also in fair to poor condition. The signal at Central Ave/3rd St is in need of replacement. These corridors are the next phase of downtown that should be reconstructed. A reconstruction is likely the best alternative to address all of the corridor deficiencies. This project is included in the city’s fy 2024-2028 Capital Improvement Program. As of February 22, 2024, further details regarding design and construction timelines have not been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
