The City of Moore Parks and Recreation Department is seeking writtenproposals for a "Medieval Castle Theme" design, installation, safety surfacing and supply of playground equipment at Apple Valley Park located at 4401 Melrose Dr. Moore, OK 73160. Specific park inforation asfollows:1) All designs shall be documented to meet or exceed the CPSC guide-lines of 2011, ASTM F 1487-11 and the ADA regulations (or the latesteditions thereof). Playgrounds that have high play value while incorporating safety, low maintenance and IPEMA certification will be givenpreference. Owing to these ideas, the City of Moore gives low priorityto bubble panels (due to high vandalism), spring riders (due to break-age), and to roof on playground (low play value and inconsequentialamount of shade versus price).2) It is the intention of the City of Moore to provide a complete playground system, including one or more play apparatus for each area,pour in place, benches and shade. The contractor shall provide all nec-essary design, materials, incidentals, methods and labor necessary tofurnish a complete play area ready for use. All material shall be newand free from defects and come with a manufacturers warranty on allparts and labor. Aditional specifications are included, below:The City of Moore is requesting designs as follows:ßOne "tot lot" for 2 - 5 year olds. All support posts must have a mini-mum of 3 1/2" outside diameter. Include tot swings in proposal.ßA separate play area for 5 - 12 year olds. All support posts must havea minimum of 5" outside diameter, including swings.3 A minimum of 3 shade structures shall be included in the playgrounddesign. Structure sizes may vary depending on design. Shade struc-tures should have installation, concrete base, all steel posts. All sup-port posts must have a minimum of 5" outside diameter. Shade struc-tures need to cover the playground structures themselves. A minimumof three park benches shall be included in teh playground design to beplaced inside the playground borders. Park benches must match colorand theme of playground.4) All equipment in each area is to be placed inside a bordered safetysurface area that has a minimum height of 12" above the ground. Ifavailable, please include one manufacturer's wheelchair-accessible bor-der section for each area when calculating safety surface borders.I. A layer of weed barrier fabric on grade.II. A 12-inch (12") layer of wood mulch safety surfacing better than orequal to Playzone by Riverside Ranch LLC in Norman on top of the sec-ond fabric layer.III. Include Pour in Place at all slide exits and under all swing seatswith proper installation.5) Designs shall be submitted with a scale drawing and written de-scriptions of the components. Contractor must include at a minimum 3renderings of different playground design perspectives in the proposal.Also include factory warrantees and product liability inforation on allcomponents. Please submit three contact names and phone numberswhere playground equipment has been designed by your company with-in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area.6) Contractor with the successful proposal will be required to enter aconstruction contract with the City of Moore and shall be required toprovide a Performance Bond, Statutory Bond and Maintenance Bond aswell as proof of insurance and Workers Compensation Insurance.7) Because of wide range of play equipment available, vendors are en-couraged to submit more than one proposal for each area. Each pro-posal shall be delivered in separate envelopes and contain all of the re-quested information. Also note that these proposals will be selectedbased on partially on citizen input.8) Work is to be completed within 90 calendar days from issuance ofnotice to proceed-provided site conditions meet those specified as ap-propriate for installation. Project completion date is to be on or beforeJune 1st, 2018. Note that the project site is a developed park and workwill likely need to proceed as quickly as possible in order to accommo-date regular park usage by patrons. Work times and days may have tobe scheduled to accommodate park use.9) The City of Moore reserves the right to reject any and all proposals.Also, the City of Moore reserves the right to work with the selectedvendor to make minor alterations to their designs. The vendor withthe successful proposal will be required to contract with the City andexecute all necessary warranties on the equipment to be purchased.10) There will be a meeting between city staff and selected vendor toreview playground design, selection of colors and/or any issues withthe playground.The City of Moore reserves the right to reject any and all proposals.
