As of April 2, 2019 the project is not yet awarded. It is expected to be awarded on the evening of April 2, 2019.
Repainting the exterior and interior of a 1,000,000 gallon elevated water storage tank and tank structure along
with the finial structural repair. Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified check, drawn on a bank or trust company authorized to do
business in North Carolina, payable to the City of Goldsboro, in an amount to at least equal five percent (5%) of the total
amount of the bid, as a guarantee that a contract will be entered into and that a satisfactory performance bond will be
executed. In lieu of a certified check, the bidder may submit a bid bond in the form prescribed by G.S. 143-129 as
amended by Chapter 1104 of the Public Laws of 1951.
Contractors are notified that Legislative Acts relating to licensing of contractors will be observed in receiving bids
and awarding the contract. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids, to add or delete work, to waive informalities, and to award contract
which, in the opinion of the City, appears to be in its best interest. The right is reserved to hold any or all proposals for a
period of sixty (60) days from the opening thereof. The City of Goldsboro has an affirmative policy of fostering,
promoting and conducting business with women and minority owned enterprises. Women and minority contractors are
encouraged to participate in the pre-qualification process. All contractors must adhere to the Davis- Bacon Act, and the
"Buy American" provision of the 2009 Stimulus law (see proposal for details). **Attendance was mandatory for the Pre-Bid meeting, so only those contractors who attend the Pre-Bid meeting are allowed to bid on the project.**
